Hotshots tally 1st win in SBL

THE Hotshots clipped the Rasenta Builders, 78-77 for their first win of the season in The Southside Basketball League Season 5 Dirtbusters Cleaning Services Cup at the Sacred Heart Center on Saturday, March 7, 2020.

Art Mantuhac scored 18 points and added four assists to help the Hotshots improve to 1-2 (win-loss) in the Right Wing division.

In other games, the defending champions Nat’s Fishcrackers showed Gugma no love as they thumped the latter, 118-83. Mark Monte scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds to help Nat’s bolster their standing to 2-0.

Melro Brokerage also kept in step with Nat’s as they too snatched their second straight win with an 88-74 win over Camacho’s Seafood and Supply. Ranel Cortes tallied 17 points, five rebounds and three assists for Melro while Camacho’s dropped to an even 1-1.

Over on the Right Wing division, Anonymous continued to make a name for itself as it nabbed another win, this time over the Tanduay Distillers, 84-67. Vernald Almacin paced Anonymous with 23 points as they moved up to 2-0.

And finally, Cordials Security Agency leaned on their tremendous defense to stifle Dirtbusters Cleaning Services, 97-63. JC Rosales got a double-double of 25 points and 10 boards to give the team its first win after opening the season with a loss. (JNP)
