Dearborn comes to ICM in the newly created position after heading the newspaper arm of Tribune during a rocky three-year period marked by sexual harassment controversies at the Los Angeles Times and involving Michael Ferro, former Tribune chairman and a longtime business associate of Dearborn. Dearborn resigned as chairman-CEO of Tribune in January.
At ICM, Dearborn will report to managing director Chris Silbermann. He’s tasked with overseeing day-to-day operations of the agency. ICM has expanded during the past few years with acquisitions of specialty talent agencies including Headline Media News, Royce Carlton Agency, Sagalyn Agency and the Just For Laughs comedy festival.

ICM emphasized Dearborn’s track record in dealing with M&A and integrations, corporate development, team-building and strategic planning. ICM is adjusting to a fast-changing market for Hollywood’s core business of film and television, which is forcing agencies of any size to diversify.

Dearborn has limited experience in media and entertainment. Before Tribune, Dearborn was CEO of technology firm Merge Healthcare Inc.
