Ignite head coach Brian Shaw said that the decision involving Filipino NBA prospect Kai Sotto would be made by people who wields more authority than him.
"That'll be something that will be determined by the people that are above my pay grade," Shaw recently said after the Ignite improved their win-loss record to 3-0 in the G League bubble in Orlando, Florida.
It can be recalled that the 7-foot-2 Sotto left the Ignite training camp to fly back to the Philippines to join the Gilas Pilipinas in their preparation for the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers. But with the third and final leg of the said suddenly postponed and moved back to Clark, Pampanga, Sotto is now flying back to the U.S. to supposedly join the Ignite.
Whether Sotto will be able to, though, is another story, as the youngster will have to go through four days of isolation and then, register four negative tests before he can go inside the bubble.
Shaw added that his focus is on preparing Ignite for the games ahead especially with the team doing so well so far.
"Right now, I'm just concerned about the guys that are here and coaching them and we'll see what happens when we get to that point," Shaw said. (JNP)
