Hospital staff in Oak Parks, Illinois, discharged their 1,000th COVID-19 patient on Wednesday, January 12, and celebrated the milestone with applause and parting gifts for the patient.
Rush Oak Park Hospital said the patient, Annie Wright, spent 12 days in their care until she was discharged on Wednesday. Wright received flowers, a gift basket and letters from staff.
President and CEO of the hospital, Dino Rumero, said staff would continue to do “everything possible to care for our COVID patients” during difficult times.
