Supporters of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan rallied in the capital, Islamabad, on April 3, after the national parliament and regional legislatures were dissolved.
Khan said in a TV address that he had advised President Arif Alvi to dissolve parliament after National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri dismissed a no-confidence motion against Khan.
According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty who provided this footage, supporters who attended the rally “vowed that they would win in snap elections, which should take place within 90 days, according to the constitution”.
Pakistan’s opposition party brought a motion of no confidence against Khan in late March, amid accusations that the prime minister mismanaged the economy. Khan claimed that the desire to remove him from power is part of a foreign conspiracy. Credit: Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty via Storyful
