Instagram tops 100 million users –Zuckerberg

Instagram, the popular photo-sharing app snapped up by social networking giant Facebook some months back, has breached the 100-million user mark, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg has claimed.

Zuckerberg made the claim at the TechCrunch Disrupt tech conference in San Francisco, California, tech site Mashable reported Wednesday.

“They’re this super-talented bunch of engineers, they just crossed 100 million users ... They’re just killing it,” he said.

But Zuckerberg said Facebook is aiming much higher for Instagram.

“We want to help them grow to hundreds of millions of users,” he said.

He also said Instagram would "not be overly integrated" into Facebook's infrastructure, though its team just moved to Facebook headquarters, Mashable said.

Mashable said its last information showed Instagram had 80 million users as of end-July.

It said this suggests the app, initially available on iOS but now also available on Android, "is seeing upward of 10 million downloads a month." — TJD, GMA News
