WHEN it comes to our health and wellness, eating right, getting at least 30 minutes to an hour of exercise a day, drinking plenty of water, and getting the right amount of sleep are basic necessities. But did you know that another major factor in your overall wellness journey is having real and loyal friends?
In celebration of International Friendship Day, here are celebrities that prove that even if one has the almost perfect life with all the glitz and glamour, having a true friend (or friends) will keep one sane and grounded.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire
Though these heartthrobs played pals as Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway in 2013’s “The Great Gatsby,” their real-life friendship started way back when they were just 12 years old after they met at an audition in the late ‘80s. Despite the fact that Leo beat out Tobey twice for the main role for films “Critters 3” and “This Boy’s Life,” the pair never let competition get in the way of their friendship. Instead, they have built a genuine, lasting relationship that hasn’t been warped by fame.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow
Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) and Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) have made good on the lyrics of their theme song: “I’ll be there for you” both onscreen and offscreen. Growing up together, they were there for each other in good and bad times, in sickness and in health, through heartbreak and happy ending.
Though the hit series “F.R.I.E.N.D.S.” ended in 2014 and their careers went down different roads, the trio continue to remain close and still go on coffee dates—but not at Central Perk though.
Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling
Once upon a time, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling were just fans of each other’s work and had a chance to work together in “A Wrinkle In Time.” From then on, the two became close. Mindy making “Wreath Witherspoon,” a Christmas wreath with pictures of Reese, on her TV show “The Mindy Project” is one of the many proofs of how they treasure each other. And now co-workers-turned-friends Reese and Mindy are very excited to be working together again as the two are teaming up for “Legally Blonde 3.”
Kylie Jenner and Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou
Not so long ago, Jordyn Woods and Kylie Jenner had been the definition of #BFFGoals on Instagram as the dynamic duo were always seen together travelling, attending events, doing fun shoots for their Instagram, rocking matching outfits and basically raising Stormi (Kylie’s daughter together).
But after a huge scandal, the “ride or die” tandem broke up and, yes, friendship breakups are a thing.
However, contrary to popular belief, Kylie’s other BFF (best friend forever) Anastasia “Stassie” didn’t come onto the scene after the Kylie-Jordyn breakup. She’s actually friends with both and has been friends with Kylie for 11 years and counting, and remains loyal to Kylie.
As Kylie shared on her Instagram referring to Stassie, “You’ve been the most consistent and loyal friend in my life.”
Now the two are tight-knit. Both got matching “Stormi” tattoos on their arms, and are even isolating together, creating TikTok videos during this time of crisis.
Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston
Loki and Thor may go at each other’s throats, but between actors Chris and Tom who play these roles, there is nothing but love. This turned out as Hollywood’s most beloved bromance. From the moment Chris and Tom first met (while preparing for the first “Thor” movie), the two enjoyed each other’s company and treated each other as real brothers. Even the throne of Asgard can’t get in the way of their friendship.
