ISABELA, Philippines – The provincial government of Isabela is preparing ahead of the expected impact of tropical storm ‘Ramon.’
According to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Assistant Director Col. Basilio Dumlao, they have already instructed other disaster management units in the province about the necessary preparations ahead of the storm.
So far, emergency vehicles are on standby in case evacuation of residents is required during the onset of the storm especially those who live in low-lying areas and along the coasts.
The provincial government has so far prepared 600 food packs for the relief operations in communities in the coastal areas so they would have food and prevent sailors from venturing out into the rough seas.
Residents are also oriented of the possible evacuation once the storm intensifies. – MNP (with details from Joan Nano)
