Jaja Santiago and Saitama Ageo Medics fell to Hisamitsu Springs in straight sets, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21, in the 2021 Japan V. League at the Panasonic Arena on Saturday (6 November).

The Filipino middle blocker struggled to find her prolific form in a seven-point production for the Ageo Medics, who could not stifle Hisamitsu's balanced offensive thrust.

Miyuki Nakagawa and Asuka Hamamatsu spearheaded the winning effort with 12 points apiece, as Hisamitsu rose to a 6-1 record to strengthen their hold of second place, behind the unbeaten JT Marvelous.

Yuki Ishii shouldered the offensive load after scoring 11 points, while Yuka Imamura chimed in nine points.

On the other hand, Saitama, despite coming off a sweep of the PFU Bluecats, was unable to carry over momentum as it stumbled to a 3-4 record.

Kyoko Aoyagi, Mami Uchiseto and Yuka Sato topped the losing side with nine points each.

Santiago and the Ageo Medics will attempt to get back on track when they take on Hisamitsu once more on Sunday.
