Jaja Santiago and the Saitama Ageo Medics picked apart the Toyota Auto Body Queenseis with a 25-21, 25-21, 25-23 rout in the 2021-22 Japan V. League at the Kawagoe Sports Park General Gymnasium on Sunday (28 November).

The towering Filipino reinforcement delivered four attacks and two blocks in a six-point effort for the Ageo Medics, who also leaned on the scoring brilliance of Yuka Sato in the three-set affair.

Sato dismantled Toyota's defense, hammering down a game-high 20 points, all of which coming from attacks. She proved clutch in the decisive third set, where Saitama found itself trailing behind before surging towards victory.

Staring at a 16-21 deficit in the third frame, the Ageo Medics kicked into a higher gear and went on a 7-1 scoring spree to snatch a 23-22 lead. Sato then nailed the finishing blows to seal the deal.

The win elevated Saitama to a 7-5 win-loss slate while keeping Toyota winless in 12 matches.

Kelsey Robinson paced the losing side with 16 points.

Santiago and the Ageo Medics will have several days of rest and preparation before facing Hitachi next weekend.
