Singer-songwriter James Reid is set to drop his new single, “California Lovin'” on June 30, but fans can experience it as early as World Music Day today, June 21, as he partners with Scotch whisky brand Johnnie Walker for a drink inspired by the said song.

The press release wrote, “Johnnie Walker, the world’s number one Scotch Whisky, raises a toast to progress in music through its cultural partners ‘The Walkers,’” which Reid has recently become part of. They are celebrating World Music Day together through the Johnnie California Highball, which they describe as “the perfect drink to enjoy while listening to James’ new single.”

Fans and casual drinkers alike can grab the custom highball for P350 at any of the Notorious Concepts Restaurants below:

  • Alamat at 2/F, 5666 Don Pedro, Poblacion, Makati, 1209 Metro Manila

  • West32 at 1/F, 8464 Makati Ave, Makati, Metro Manila

  • Japonesa at 1/F, 8464 Makati Ave, Makati, Metro Manila

“Hints of apple and citrus meet the signature smoke of a Johnnie Walker Black Label in this custom highball, creating a taste that instantly transports you to the bright, warm summers of California,” they added.

Johnnie Walker also provides the recipe for those who want to catch the vibe at home:

  • 45ml Johnnie Walker Black

  • 25ml Apple Juice

  • 15ml Lime

  • 10ml Vanilla

  • Top with Ginger Ale

  • Dash of Lemon Bitters

  • Fan of Apple slices as garnish

Reid, who is set to focus more on music this year, had performed California Lovin’ at the The Grammys’ “Press Play at Home” platform last May 26, but the studio version will only be released at the end of June.

The singer-songwriter’s partnership with Johnnie Walker ties together with the “celebration of musicians across the globe and their contribution towards making the world move in harmony and unison.”
