Promising Cebuano guard Jared Bahay has earned an invite to the 12th Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Asia camp from Aug. 7 to 10 at the NBA Global Academy in Canberra, Australia.
Bahay, who recently played for the Gilas Pilipinas youth squad that competed in the 2022 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship in Doha, Qatar, will be joined by four other Filipino cagers. These are his Gilas teammate, Caelum Harris, Camille Nolasco, LA John Andres, and Quinn Kacey Dela Rosa.
BWB Asia will bring together more than 60 of the top male and female players ages 18 and under from throughout the Asia-Pacific region to learn directly from current and former FIBA, NBA and WNBA players and compete alongside their peers from across the region.
The campers and coaches will also take part in life skills, leadership development and community service programs. BWB Asia 2022 campers and coaches will be announced prior to the camp.
The campers will have the privilege of learning from a mix of elite and up-and-coming NBA stars such as All-Star center Jarrett Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Dallas Mavericks’ Josh Green, the Phoenix Suns’ Cameron Johnson, and the Chicago Bulls’ Coby White.
Among the coaches of the BWB Asia campers are NBA players Jarrett Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Josh Green of the Dallas Mavericks, Cameron Johnson of the Phoenix Suns, and Coby White of the Chicago Bulls.
The NBA and FIBA have hosted 64 BWB camps in 30 countries since the program's launch in 2001. BWB has reached more than 3,700 participants from 133 countries and territories, with 104 former campers drafted into the NBA and WNBA or signed as free agents.
