John Lloyd Cruz joins Kapuso network

John Lloyd Cruz trended on Twitter after GMA revealed on Tuesday (November 9) that the former Kapamilya star who went on as showbiz hiatus has joined the Kapuso network.

“John Lloyd Cruz is officially back," GMA tweeted, with the hashtag #JLConGMA.

In a separate tweet, they asked fans whose excited to see him on a new project.

In the past, GMA has hinted that an award-winning actor will soon be joining its ranks. In terms of John Lloyd's next projects, the network hasn't made any announcements.

The 38-year-old actor is widely regarded as one of the best in the country. A member of ABS-CBN's Star Magic, he originally gained recognition in the late 2000s. Imortal, Tabing Ilog, It Might Be You and Maging Sino Ka Man are only a few of the ABS-CBN series he starred in.

Finally Found Someone, starring Sarah Geronimo, was the last blockbuster hit he starred in before he took an "indefinite leave of absence" from the entertainment industry in October 2017. In 2018, he and Ellen Adarna had their first child.

Since then, he's avoided the spotlight. He played a minor part in Culion, an upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival entry. Servando Magdamag, a film written and directed by Ricky Lee where he is the lead star, was announced in February 2020.

In May 2021, John Lloyd signed with Maja Salvador’s talent management agency, Crown Artist Management (CAM).
