HOMEGROWN developer Johndorf Ventures Corp. firms up a positive outlook on Cebu’s property sector as it sets to launch 18 projects in 2020 in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Michele Chiu-Bacungan, sales and marketing manager, said the developer has seen a great potential in the VisMin market as the demand for condominiums and townhouses continues to rise.
“We are very optimistic with the industry especially here in Cebu,” she said.
Despite cutthroat competition, Bacungan said this gives the company more motivation to continue serving their existing and new customers.
She said the firm is also now focusing on locations outside Cebu City particularly in Lapu-Lapu and Minglanilla.
She said most of their developments in these particular areas have strong and fast uptake and have been sold in just months, specifically Minglanilla.
“We see the potential in the markets outside Cebu because we can still offer cheaper prices because Johndorf has always been known to offer affordable housing. That’s always been our mission,” Bacungan said.
On Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, the real estate developer held a blessing for its new sales and marketing office located on the ground floor of the Ayala Life-FGU Center in Cebu Business Park.
Bacungan said the facility becomes more visible and accessible to their customers as they continue to market their projects.
She said their buyers include a mix of foreigners, locals and overseas Filipino workers.
Johndorf is targeting more buyers especially outside of Cebu City.
Its current projects in Cebu include Plumera, Amberley and the Johndorf Towers, while projects are slated in Cagayan de Oro and Davao.
In an earlier interview, Joey Bondoc, senior research manager at Colliers International Philippines, said Cebu remains one of the preferred investment destinations outside Manila especially in real estate development.
Real estate is a prime driver of Cebu’s economy in recent years, backed by the robust tourism and outsourcing industries.
