Cebuano basketball star and San Miguel Beermen sentinel June Mar Fajardo will be having a donation drive this season, pledging P200 for every point his scores during PBA Season 47.

The total amount will then be given to a charitable organization that Fajardo and the PBA will select.

The six-time PBA Most Valuable Player will also donate P1,000 for every made three-pointer and a whopping P100,000 if the Beermen make the conference finals. The donation drive began on Wednesday night when San Miguel topped Phoenix, 108-100, with the 6-foot-10 big man scoring 24 points.

The University of Cebu product explained that this was his way of living up to a promise he made to his late mother, Marites, to lend a hand to those who are in need of help. Fajardo’s mother passed away last year while Fajardo was in the PBA Season 46 Philippine Cup bubble.

“Para sa mama ko yun, hindi para sa akin,” said Fajardo in an article on Tiebreaker Times. “Gusto ko lang maging proud ‘yung mama ko sa akin.”
