Even if the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) does make a return to action later this year, don’t expect Cebuano big man six-time Most Valuable Player winner June Mar Fajardo to be back out on the floor.
Sidelined by a leg injury that he suffered during practice, the San Miguel star said he is in no rush to make a return as he’s diligently following the rehab program prescribed to him by renowned physician Dr. George Canlas. With his injury healed, the native of Pinamungahan is now keen on strengthening his body.
"Hindi ako nagmamadali. Gusto ko 110 percent na pag-heal (I’m not rushing it. I want to return when I’m 110%)," said Fajardo.
The University of Cebu product even vowed to have more tricks in his bag whenever he makes his return to the court. He might even be shooting more from the perimeter.
"Stretch five na ako," hinted Fajardo.
San Miguel Beermen officials led by team manager Gee Abanilla shares Fajardo’s sentiment in just letting the 6-foot-10 giant take his time in recovering from the severe injury.
"His progress is on schedule. He is doing his rehab with our PT's and he is improving by the day," said Abanilla said. (JNP)
