THE PhilamLife Vitality Kampeon Cup will be rescheduled to a later date amidst the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
The organizers announced on Thursday, March 12, 2020, that the three-day football event has been postponed as safety measures to all the people involved in the event.
The event first announced that it will postpone only the Youth Games—a division for players in U15, U13, U11 and U9 age groups. Hours later, it released a statement postponing the whole event
The PhilamLife Vitality Kampeon Cup was supposed to start on March 13 and last until March 15 at the Dynamic Herbs Sports Inc. football field in the South Road Properties.
“Due to unfortunate circumstances surrounding the widespread of Covid-19 in the country. The 7s Football League is announcing the rescheduling of the PhilamLife Vitality Kampeon Cup to a later date,” the organizers said in a the statement.
The World Health Organization has officially announced Covid-19 a pandemic. The disease has infected around 120,000 around the world and was the cause of around 4,300 deaths.
The Philippines has 49 Covid-19 cases as of March 12. (RSC)
