I don't know about you, but I did not successfully book myself a haircut and colour in the run-up to lockdown measures easing. Far from it - while the likes of Miley, Taylor and Billie Eilish flaunt their goddamn gorgeous new hair, I'm still here, split-end ridden, with roots longer than the list of pubs I forgot to book a table at.

And guess who did not let themselves down when it comes to hair admin? Kate Middleton.

After a sombre end to last week attending Prince Phillip's funeral, Kate ventured out to visit an Air Cadets squadron in East London, and it was clear she, unlike the rest of us, had her shit together when it comes to sorting out her post-lockdown highlights.

She debuted a warmer tone than usual (not quite auburn, but a far cry from the super-beachy, lifted colour she sported for a while - with not a root nor split end in sight.

Its not unusual for Kate to emerge from lockdowns and quieter periods with a new look - in the past year she's tried everything from Rachel Green hair to super-straight locks, chunky highlights, Disney-esque hair and even 90s updos.

She wore her hair in a shiny blow-dry, and paired the look with a smart double-breasted dress coat, finished with brass buttons, and accessorised with a minimalist leather clutch. At one point, she also acquired a badass cadet headset for a photo-opp with a pilot.

Both she and William opted for dark colours, paying their respects following the death of Prince William.
