Kate Walsh: I’m a sassy redhead

Kate Walsh felt like an “imposter” as a blonde.

The actress is famed for her fiery red tresses, but admits they aren’t natural. However, Kate plans on sticking with the bold hue for the meantime, as she loves the confidence it gives her.

“I highlighted it to keep it blonde for a long time. And let me tell you, I got so much more attention from men,” she revealed in an interview with Shape magazine.

“I felt like an imposter before. I'm stronger and sassier as a redhead. It's much more me.”

Kate’s confidence radiates in her risqué cover photo for the publication. The 44-year-old star says she wanted her sense of self to shine through on the pictures, despite having initial reservations.

“I was terrified, but I really wanted to do a naked cover - especially with Shape because the magazine is about loving yourself inside and out,” she said.

“Right now, I feel really healthy, confident, and sexy. I'm enjoying my 40's and wanted to share that.”

The Grey’s Anatomy star says she’s staying away from cosmetic enhancements. Kate wants her face to be expressive, so insists face lifts and fillers are a no-go area.

“We live in a strange time when getting plastic surgery is as common as dyeing your hair, but in my profession, I need a malleable face,” she explained.
