KCS Computer Specialist will not have any of the imports that helped them win the Visayas championship in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup last May as Al Francis Tamsi has been activated by the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters.
With guard Chris Banchero still recovering from an injury, Tamsi has been given the green light by Phoenix to join the team in their game versus NorthPort on Wednesday. This also means that KCS would no longer one of its reliable wingmen for its campaign in the national finals.
The development is a bitter pill to swallow for head coach Mike Reyes as the team also no longer has its two best players after Visayas leg Finals MVP Ping Exciminiano and the team’s top scorer Gryann Mendoza were recalled by their mother team, the TNT Tropang Giga, for the Philippine Cup.
Unless KCS adds any more players, they would go to battle with an 11-man crew composed of homegrown players that got their start in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI). This includes reigning Cesafi MVP Shaquille Imperial, Joseph Nalos, Bernie Bregondo, Dyll Roncal, Monic Soliva, Steve Castro, Phil Mercader, Gileant Delator, Red Cachuela and Rhaffy Octobre. (JNP)
