Kids will love this at-home play dough hack

Play dough is an arts and crafts household staple. And while the store-bought variety is always a good option, you can also make your own play dough from ingredients you already have around the house with this easy, natural hack that’s sure to be a hit with kids of all ages!

For this project, you will need:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp iodized salt

  • ½ tbsp cream of tartar

  • ½ tbsp vegetable oil

  • ½ tsp natural food coloring

  • ¼ cup hot water

Directions

  1. Combine flour, salt, cream of tartar, and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the natural food coloring with hot water, then gradually add it to the other ingredients and thoroughly stir.

  3. Knead the dough until it softens, then roll it into a ball.

  4. Repeat steps 1-3 with different food coloring to make tons of colors!
