KNF-SAN Roque Football Club (KNF-SRFC) showed why it has some of the best veterans in the city as it brought home the crown and finished second in the two oldest age groups of the 10th Sinulog Football Cup.
Two weeks before it guns for the AboitizLand Football Cup title, KNF-Ferraren brought home the 40-Above title in the 10th Sinulog Cup at the Cebu City Sports Center and finished second in the 50-Above division on March 1, 2020.
The old guns of Nilo Ferraren outlasted Abellana National School-Alumni, 4-3, to bring home the title with Dante Perez earning the MVP award. Playing as KNF United, the team will face Don Bosco Alumni for the 45-Above crown of the AboitizLand Football Cup on March 15 with both teams tied at 10 points on a 3-win, 1-draw record.
In the 50-Above division, Rene Inoc towed Erco FC to the crown over KNF-SRFC, 1-0, to earn the MVP award, while giving KNF its second silverware for the day.
In the Men’s Open division, Makoto FC flexed its muscles and blanked DUcks FC of Dipolog City, 2-0, to win the title. Hiroki Tsuda earned the MVP award.
In the Inter-Company division, multiple champion Leylam continued its dominance of this category with a 1-0 win over Mako FC thanks to the brilliance of Ferimo Sabella, who got the nod for the MVP.
On the other hand, after its Boys 19 team brought home the title, the Univesity of San Jose-Recoletos Basak also earned the Ladies Open title after beating Camel Two with May Inokawa earning the MVP award.
The 10th Sinulog Cup was organized by the Central Visayas Football Association and attracted over 220 teams.
During the first day, Don Bosco Technology Center won four titles, while Sheba FC (Girls 15), Sacred Heart School-Ateneo (Girls 19), USJ-R (Boys 19) and Merlion (U11). won one each. (PR)
