- Kylie Jenner's grandmother has revealed she was 'defensive' about her split from Travis Scott, glossing over it while sharing the news with her family.
- The couple announced their break up at the beginning of October 2019, insisting they would stay on great terms for the sake of their daughter, Stormi Webster.
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott broke Keeping Up With The Kardashian fans' hearts last month when they confirmed rumours of their split. In a tweet written to her 29.5million followers, Kylie explained, "Travis and I are on great terms and our main focus right now is Stormi! Our friendship and our daughter is priority."
But according to a new interview with Kylie's grandmother Esther (Caitlyn's mum), things were not so chilled behind the scenes - with the family member suggesting Kylie was a little more on the defensive with those closest to her.
Esther began by telling The Sun about her regular conversations with Kylie and her daughter. "She puts the baby [Stormi] on FaceTime and I can see her progress, she’s a darling little child," she commented, before sharing a nugget of information about her split from Travis.
"I was sympathising with Kylie a short time ago about the breakup with the baby’s father," Esther continued. "Kylie just smoothed over it real quickly, [saying] 'We’re both going to be good parents to her' like in defence almost...Young people today, they think they can live together, start a family together, without being married, it doesn’t work!"
Ignoring Esther's frankly outdated expectations of what a modern couple should look like, it's sad that Kylie felt like she couldn't open up about the split with her family, and instead wanted to be cagey.
Is that because there's more tea to spill?
