Lamborghini has unveiled the Roadster version of its Aventador speedster, which generates 700hp and boasts similar performance specs as the model it is based on, but adds a removable carbon fiber roof.
Based on the Aventador coupe that was launched in the summer of 2011, this new version boasts a removable roof made of two separate parts and weighing in at less than 6kg.
The back of the car shelters a V12 6.5l engine that delivers the same type of performance as the original: the speedster can reach 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds (versus 2.9s for the original) and a top speed of 350 km/h. It is also the first Lamborghini supercar to integrate the Stop & Start system.
The new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster will be available in a range of colors, including the brand new "Azzuro Thetis" theme. It will sell with either 20- or 21-inch rims.
It is already available to order on the carmaker's website, from €300,000 (before tax).
