THE Lapu-Lapu City Government is set to distribute the midyear bonus for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) on Thursday, June 16, a day before the city celebrates its 61st Charter Day anniversary.

In a press statement, Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan said the scheduled distribution of the midyear bonus for senior citizens and PWDs in 11 island barangays will be done on June 16 while those living in the 19 mainland barangays will receive their payout starting Friday, June 17 until Saturday, June 18.

Chan said each senior citizen is expected to receive P4,000 in cash while PWDs are about to receive P3,000.

According to Junard Abalos, head of the City Social Welfare and Services (CSWDO), the city has a total of 31,737 senior citizens and 6,718 PWDs.

The payout is expected to take place either in the beneficiaries’ barangay gymnasiums or public schools.

Apart from that, all senior citizens who celebrate their birthday within the months of April and May this year, are also set to receive P1,000 each as a gift from the Lapu-Lapu City Government.

Chan said a representative is not allowed to receive the money. It should be the beneficiary who must personally receive the payout.

The mayor, however, said for bedridden beneficiaries, CSWDO personnel will personally deliver the payout to their respective homes. He urged relatives of bedridden beneficiaries to report their current condition to the City.
