THE Lapu-Lapu City Government is set to distribute the mid-year bonus for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) on the city's 61st Charter Day anniversary on Friday, June 17, 2022.

In a press statement, Mayor Junard "Ahong" Chan said the scheduled distribution of the mid-year bonus for senior citizens and PWDs in the 19 barangays in the mainland would be on June 17 to June 18, while those residing in the 11 barangays in Olango Island are set to receive their pay-out on June 16.

Chan said each senior citizen is expected to receive P4,000 cash, while PWDs will receive P3,000.

According to Junard Abalos, head of the City Social Welfare and Services, the city has a total of 31,737 senior citizens and 6,718 PWDs.

The cash distribution is expected to take place either in their respective barangay gymnasium or public schools.

Apart from that, all senior citizens who celebrate their birthdays within the months of April and May this year, are also set to receive P1,000 each as a gift.

Chan said authorization is not allowed, adding that it should be the beneficiary who would personally receive the money.

The mayor, however, said that it would be the city's personnel who will personally deliver the payout to the respective homes of the bedridden beneficiaries, adding that relatives should inform the city about the circumstance. (MKG)
