THE last batch of distribution of educational assistance will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD 7) announced.

DSWD 7 Director Shalaine Marie Lucero said there are 30 distribution sites throughout Central Visayas where the student beneficiaries can claim their cash aid.

Cebu has the most number of distribution sites with 18, followed by Bohol with eight, and Negros Oriental with four.

Around 5,000 beneficiaries from the three provinces who have received a confirmation from the DSWD are expected to receive their cash aid during the activity.

"In the event nga adunay mga unpaid kay nakulangan ilang papel or naay klase ang mga estudyante, so kadto sila ato silang i-reschedule sugod sa September 26 didto sa regional office or sa barangay depende asa ang ilang location," Lucero said.

(In the event that the students will not be paid due to lack of requirements or because they are having classes, we will reschedule them in claiming their cash starting September 26 at the regional office).

Lucero, however, said the beneficiaries must first make a call before going to their office to claim their cash to avoid wasting their travel time and effort.

She added that the DSWD will also coordinate with the barangays where the students who have not yet claimed their benefits reside.

The DSWD 7 has P118 million in funding for the distribution of educational assistance throughout the region.

The agency has already released P94.6 million worth of educational assistance to a total of 35,107 beneficiaries from the four provinces in the region, including Siquijor.

For Saturday's distribution, Siquijor will not be included anymore as all the student beneficiaries there have already received their financial assistance. (PAC, TPT)
