Lava continued to flow from the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma on September 21, putting structures and lives in danger.
More than 200 buildings were destroyed and 6,000 people evacuated as lava advanced toward the coastline of La Palma amid the eruption, Telecinco reported.
Multiple government agencies have responded to the emergency, including Involcan, local council, civil protection units, firefighters, and police. This video shared by the Policía Nacional on September 21 shows the encroaching lava. Credit: Policía Nacional via Storyful
