Learn acting secrets and more—Star Magic online international workshops

·1 min read

What do actors like Christian Bables, Coco Martin, Julia Barretto, Jake Cuenca, Anna Luna, EJ Falcon, Alora Sasam, Ynna Asistio, Roco Nacino, Sandino Martin, Arjo Atayde, Paulo Avelino, Joshua Garcia and Charlie Dizon, among others, have in common?

They have all undergone training by the only certified Chubbuck Technique acting teacher, director Rahyan Carlos who, at the same time, heads the ABS-CBN Star Magic Artist Training and Workshops.

Rahyan said that actors, despite being already award-winning, “still need to undergo workshops.”

He said “acting is a lifestyle of learning” and that artists need to study continuously as they can “rust” anytime.

“Acting changes because people change and workshops make artists better,” stressed Rahyan.

With the pandemic, Rahyan had to study and find ways to transpose all workshops and training to online modules. Training on acting, dance, voice and conversational Tagalog were then conducted via Zoom.

When the soft launch of the online workshops was held in June 2020, a total of 250 students from different parts of the world such as England, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Italy, Virginia, New York, Guam, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, France, Dubai, Qatar and Canada enrolled. Live and recorded online recitals and culminating activities of all workshops were done.

With a partnership with Artist Movement Production in Canada, new elements in the Star Magic Summer 2021 Workshops—exclusive, focused and international grade lessons through the award-winning and seasoned teachers—are the core focus points of the workshops.

Interested parties for next year’s installment may visit Star Magic Workshops on social media for details. Enrollment is ongoing. All classes will start in May 2022.
