At Least Two Killed in Madrid Building Explosion

Madrid’s emergency services confirmed at least two people were killed and several were injured in an explosion that destroyed a building near the Puerta de Toledo in the Spanish capital on January 20.

At least four floors of a building were destroyed by the explosion and nearby buildings were damaged, the Emergency Information Office said. Local news reports said the explosion was believed to have been caused by a gas leak and investigations were underway.

Video filmed by emergency services from the scene shows the destroyed building, damage nearby, and rubble.
