Vice President Leni Robredo left the Quezon City Reception House officially before noon Wednesday (June 29), which is her last day in office.

Robredo's portrait is now displayed in the Office of the Vice President (OVP), along with those of former vice presidents.

The outgoing VP was elected in 2016 together with the incumbent President Rodrigo Duterte, who is himself serving his last day in office as President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. is set to be sworn in at his inauguration tomorrow.

Robredo had been the main rival to Marcos in the recent presidential race, but the latter won the election with a landslide alongside his vice-presidential partner, Sara Duterte.

The OVP was today awarded an “unqualified opinion” from the Commission on Audit for the fourth consecutive year.

According to COA, the unqualified opinion, the highest audit rating awarded, is granted to government agencies that have fairly presented their financial reports and statements in accordance with the Philippine Public Sector Accounting Standards.

On Monday (June 27), Robredo declared reelected Senator Risa Hontiveros as the new opposition leader after swearing in the senator, and vowed to support her whenever she needs her help.

Robredo also expressed hope on Sunday that the OVP can be given a bigger role in the future so it can do more to serve Filipinos.

She also wished success for her successor Sara Duterte-Carpio and her staff, following the latter's win in the May elections.
