Being an actress has its fair share of perks. However, it also comes with some setbacks - specifically the toll it takes on your hair. All that colouring, styling and heat is a sure-fire way to fry your strands, pronto.
Lili Reinhart knows this all too well. Her role in TV show Riverdale requires her hair to be kept in the most pristinely polished high ponytail - something that might look easy, but actually takes a hell of a lot of work.
Speaking to Allure about the trials and tribulations of her hairstyle, Lili said that her "ponytail causes me stress." Go-figure, a pony that tight is bound to be pulling, although Lili claims that's not the cause of the problem.
"It's just the fact that it's really hard to get it perfect... That's my biggest struggle," she says. "Being on camera, you can't have flyaways, so I'm looking at my head probably 70 times a day to make sure that my hair is in place. I hate that it's very high maintenance."
Add in regular bleaching, her natural curly texture and the fact that her hair is curled daily for the show (stylists now use extensions whenever they can to minimise heat damage) and you can see Lili's predicament. Really, it's a recipe for disaster.
"My hair is damaged as hell from being on my show and just from heat styling in general," she explained. "So I try to take really good care of my hair."
Her go-to strand savers?
"I use a lot of Kérastase. I really like the brand."
She also relies on Shu Uemera's Ultimate Reset Mask Treatment, £45.90, because:"It's so good for your hair."
"My go-to hair situation? Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3, £32 I definitely sleep in that one. I'll put it in my hair when I go to the beach because for some reason I feel like the sun will penetrate into my hair."
So, if you were wondering how Lili manages to maintain incredibly healthy looking, shiny hair. Here it is, guys. You're welcome.
