Liloan, Argao police to work together to solve burglaries of Rose Pharmacy in both towns

POLICE in the northern town of Liloan, Cebu will coordinate with their counterparts in the southern town of Argao to find out who broke into the Rose Pharmacy branches in both towns.

Major Ramil Morpos, chief of the Liloan Police Station, said they will compare the footage taken by the security camera at the Rose Pharmacy branch in Acacia Drive, Purok Tamarong in Barangay Jubay at 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, with the footage of the break-in at the Rose Pharmacy branch along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, Argao at 2:50 a.m. on Friday, December 2.

Morpos said there were similarities in both burglaries in that the perpetrators targeted Rose Pharmacy and they broke the walls at the back of the pharmacies.

He said they don’t know if the perpetrators belong to a syndicate or if they are locals or if they only target Rose Pharmacy.

“But they have similar styles. Still we cannot say that both burglaries were committed by one group since we need move evidence to identify the perpetrators,” he said in Cebuano.

Morpos said they are already conducting a background check on the pharmacy’s employees.

He said P115,279 in cash was taken from the vault.

Meanwhile, Staff Sergeant Rolly Bonjoc of the Argao Police Station said two men wearing black bonnets and black jackets broke into Rose Pharmacy and carted away P90,000 from the vault.

He said the security camera captured a footage of one of the burglars.

He said the pharmacy’s representative, 40-year-old Caroline Manayan, a resident of Barangay Langtad in the same town, reported the break-in around 7:40 a.m. on Friday.

Bonjoc said the two burglars were able to enter by breaking the wall at the back part of the pharmacy.

He said one of them got on top of the vault and destroyed the security camera.

Bonjoc said they are still trying to identify the two men. (GPL)
