Rumours circulated over the weekend that Lily James and her boyfriend of five years, Matt Smith, have broken up.
The Downton Abbey and Mamma Mia 2 star and her Doctor Who actor boyfriend haven't been seen together for several months, sparking talk of a split. At the moment, however, the reports remain unconfirmed.
The pair have kept their romance pretty low key, largely avoiding the paparazzi and only appearing at a select few events together, including the 2017 Met Gala in New York and 2018 Burberry Fashion Show. Though engagement rumours swirled after Lily was pictured at the 2018 BAFTAs wearing a diamond ring, the couple haven't been pictured together - at events or off-duty - since before the summer.
Matt, 36, was there, though, when Lily turned 30 in April. She was seen being supported by Matt after enjoying a night out at The Box nightclub in London with friends.
Despite the gossip, the 30-year-old actor hit the red carpet solo at he 22nd British Independent Film Awards on Sunday night, looking striking and elegant in an Alessandra Rich dress. She took to the stage to present an award at the event.
Cosmopolitan UK have reached out to Lily and Matt's reps for comment.
Break-up chat aside, Lily has a busy year coming up in 2020: she's starring alongside Armie Hammer and Keeley Hawes in an adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's classic novel, Rebecca, and plays Peggy Preston in archaeological film, The Dig, which also boasts Carey Mulligan in its cast.
