MANILA, Philippines — The Navotas city government has extended the lockdown imposed over H. Monroy Street in response to the recommendation of the City Health Department.
The lockdown was supposed to end on June 21, but has been extended through June 24.
This comes after 49 residents in the barangay tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the recently conducted rapid tests, one of whom yielded a positive result in the confirmatory test.
In his Facebook page. Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco said his decision to extend the lockdown is for the residents to complete the 14-day quarantine period.
The local government strongly reminds residents to be vigilant and be responsible considering that recent cases of COVID-19 have been reported among family members. MNP (with inputs from Joan Nano)
