Alongside the likes of Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl, Iyanna and Jarrette met in 'blind pods' as part of the second season of Netflix's dating show experiment. The show sends 20 single men and 20 single women on speed dates, where they attempt to bond and connect without ever actually seeing each other.
Once the pair decide they're a perfect match, they get 'engaged', before going on honeymoon, where they explore their physical attraction now that they've made a solid emotional connection.
Despite recently celebrating their one year wedding anniversary, Iyanna and Jarrette took to Instagram to share a joint statement announcing their divorce yesterday [17th August 2022]. It read:
"What's going on, family. After much thought, we're saddened to share that we have separated and will begin the process of divorcing. While we have love for each other, our lives and going in different directions, and that's okay. Coming to this decision was far from easy and we will always wish each other the absolute best.
"We hope you all will give us some space as we close this chapter of our lives. Thank you to our close friends and family for loving us both through everything. To the Love Is Blind family and Netflix, thank you for this unforgettable opportunity and support. Each of you have brought overwhelming love and joy into our lives. This experience has taught us so much about ourselves, vulnerability and love. We don't regret a single thing!"
The official Instagram account for Love Is Blind then shared a post dedicated to the former couple, adding, "Jarrette and Iyanna - As you start the next chapters of your lives, thank you for opening your hearts to the Love Is Blind experience and sharing your journey with all of us."
Wishing them both the best!
