The 2019 series of Love Island was arguably one of the best series to date for many reasons, one of them being the fact it produced super solid couple Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury.

But, despite the fact they're totally in love and committed to each other, some of Molly-Mae's fans think it's a bit weird that she's great friends with Maura Higgins.

Of course, Maura briefly set her sights on Tommy when she entered the Love Island villa and said the boxer gave her "fanny flutters" following their first date. However, it wasn't meant to be and Tommy and Molly ended up becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.

Since leaving the Love Island villa, Molly, Maura and Tommy have gone on to become great friends, and this week Maura stayed with the couple at their apartment in Manchester. Presumably seeing that they'd all been hanging out, Molly was asked if she'd watched back the scenes involving Maura and Tommy during a fan Q&A on Thursday.

"Yes, I have and I have had so many messages and read so many articles about Maura being here and hanging out with me and Tommy and stuff, you have to understand that it鈥檚 really ok," she replied.

Molly added that Tommy and Maura are like "brother and sister now".

"Me and Maura didn鈥檛 even know each other then, we weren鈥檛 even friends," she went on. "Like, it鈥檚 a different story if it鈥檚 your mate. That鈥檚 just like a no go, but it鈥檚 really not deep. We weren鈥檛 friends when that happened."

She added, "Tommy and Maura are like brother and sister now, I know that seems weird to some of you guy - but for us three it鈥檚 really not. We鈥檙e like best mates." So that clears that up then.
