LTFRB suspends operations over Covid-19 threat

AS A safety measure against further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Central Visayas announced that its operations will be suspended Friday, March 12, 2020.

"The central office has instructed all regional offices that all personnel to observe personal hygiene. Pati kami maglimpyo, mag-disinfect pod sa mga opisina (Even us, we will clean, disinfect offices). This is to avoid people kahit one day lang para mainsakto ang preparation sa next working day," LTFRB Central Visayas Director Eduardo Montealto said.

Official government transactions related to the agency may be continued on Monday, March 16.

On average, Montealto said the agency caters to 250 clients per day.

The LTFRB also urged all personnel and stakeholders--operators, drivers, and the riding public--to practice good personal hygiene, including regular proper handwashing, to boost their immune system, and to follow advisories issued by the Department of Health. (WBS)
