THE Magnolia Hotshots ripped the Blackwater Elite apart, 95-80, for their sixth straight win in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday, November 11, at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Pampanga.

The Hotshots ended the elimination round with a 7-4 (win-loss) mark and will get either the seventh or eighth seed, depending on the result of the final game of the day between Phoenix and Rain or Shine.

Blackwater, on the other hand, will crawl out of the “bubble” with their eighth loss in a row. The Elite finished the elims with a miserable 2-9 card.

Magnolia got going early and was already up by 18, 32-14, after the end of the first quarter. They never looked back after that to register the wire-to-wire victory. Big man Ian Sangalang led the Hotshots with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Chris Banchero had 14 points, four rebounds and six assists.

Mark Barroca and Paul Lee chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Niño Cañaleta paced Blackwater with 14 points. (JNP)
