The Magnolia Hotshots did their work early to come away with a dominant 104-83 win over the Terrafirma Dyip on Friday night in the PBA Season 47 Philippine Cup.

The win was Magnolia’s fourth in a row to put their win-loss record at 5-3.

Top wingman Paul Lee also returned to the fold and scored 17 points in just 17 minutes of action as Magnolia imposed their will early and led by 31 at halftime, 64-33. The lead eventually went as high as 38 at 83-45, as Magnolia dragged Terrafirma to the bottom of the standings at 0-8.

Left-handed big man Ian Sangalang had 20 points and seven rebounds, while Jio Jalalon had 17 points, seven dimes, and six boards. James Laput also contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.

Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero was pleased to have Lee back especially with three tough games coming up on their schedule. These are against Meralco, Rain or Shine, and the surging Blackwater Bossing.

“At least gradually, nakaka-recover na siya, yung kundisyon niya bumabalik na,” said Victolero.

JP Calvo scored 20 points for Terrafirma.
