THE Magramo siblings, Giemel and Arvin, snagged regional belts after winning their respective fights on Oct. 23, 2021, at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.
Giemel totally outclassed fellow world-rated Jayr Raquinel by unanimous decision to win the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) flyweight belt.
Giemel, who just fought for a world title in 2020, got the nod of all three judges with scores of 115-113, 118-110 and 119-109.
Giemel is currently ranked No. 9 by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and No. 10 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
Giemel should move up the WBC rankings after winning the OPBF belt.
Giemel is 25-2 with 20 knockouts, while Raquinel dropped to 12-2-1 with nine knockouts.
On the other hand, Arvin stopped Jerry Francisco in the second round to win the WBO Oriental light flyweight strap.
Arvin is now 13-1-1 with nine knockouts, while Francisco fell to 9-2 with two knockouts.
In the undercard, one-time world title contender Juan Miguel Elorde (29-2, 15 KOs) outclassed Aroel Romasasa (11-10, 5 KOs) by unanimous decision, former world title challenger Jonathan Taconing (29-4-1, 22 KOs) beat veteran Albert Alcoy (15-29-8, 5 KOs), Wilbert Berondo (15-5-2, 6 KOs) squeaked past Philip Luis Cuerdo (11-10-1, 4 KOs), Fernan Agencia (6-1, 2 KOs) beat Diomel Diocos (14-7-3, 4 KOs) by majority decision and Daniel Nicolas (3-0, 2 KOs) won by unanimous decision over Fernando Tagpuno Jr. (0-2).
