Man arrested for hurling broken bottles

A 21-YEAR-OLD was arrested for hurling broken bottles at the road in Sitio Tulang Daku, Barangay Esperanza, San Francisco, Camotes Island, Cebu on Sunday morning, May 29, 2022.

Police Major Timothy Romanillos identified the suspect as Rane Mopon, resident of Sitio Matab-ang, Barangay Sonog, San Francisco, Cebu.

Romanillos told SunStar Cebu conducted mobile patrolling and police visibility, when concerned citizen informed them on a trouble alarm, walking distance from the location.

Romanilos said that they immediately spotted and caught in the act a group of individuals shouting along the road and hurling broken bottles that caused commotion and discomfort on the residents nearby.

When they sensed the presence of police officers,they immediately ran away and evaded arrest.

The responding police officers chased down and were able to arrest the suspect who was very resistant and spoke derogatory words against the police officers.

Romanillos also said that they recovered one kitchen knife from the waist of the suspect in a search for incidental arrest.

The suspect is currently detained at San Francisco Station. (GDC)
