(UPDATED) A 60-YEAR-OLD man died, while his wife was wounded when the Yamaha Aerox 155 motorcycle they were riding in collided with a multicab around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, along the national road in Barangay Dayhagon, Medellin town, in northern Cebu.

Rogelio Tagalog Bastinen, 60, from Barangay Tapilon, Daanbantayan town, was declared dead upon arriving at the hospital due to serious head injuries.

His wife, Abigail Rose Cuyoca Bastinen, 50, was still recuperating in the hospital.

The driver of the multicab, Rolando Ycot, 55, married, from Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Gairan, Bogo City, was detained at the Medellin Police Station.

Police Major Welther Grapa, chief of Medellin Police Station, said in an interview with SunStar Cebu that the victims came from Daanbantayan when upon reaching the area, the driver of the multicab coming from the opposite direction suddenly turned left, hitting the motorcycle.

But based on police report, the Aerox motorcycle was the one that hit the back portion of the pickup vehicle (not the multicab as earlier reported) when its driver made a left turn. (GPL, TPT)
