Mandani Bay celebrates Sinulog 2023

THE festivities are in full swing for Mandani Bay as it held its “Sinulog sa Mandani 2023 Balikbayan Night” on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023.

Mandani Bay marketing officer Ivan Gregory Rosell Tan said that the event serves as a “warm welcome to tourists who are back in the Philippines to celebrate the mother of festivals, and both locals and foreigners alike can get the chance to enjoy the festivities ahead of time as Mandani Bay pays homage to one of the Philippines’ grandest celebrations, the Sinulog Festival 2023.”

During the event “Sinulog Idol” Season 11, second runner-up Thea Monterde gave a lovely performance to kick off the festivities, which then featured dance performances representing the Rosquillos Festival in Liloan, the Kabkaban Festival in Carcar, the Palawod Festival in Bantayan and Sinulog sa Sugbo.

The performers were composed of Lupo An Duyo Percussion Ensemble, University of San Carlos Dance Troupe and their choreographer Jose Miguel Cabasagan and University of Cebu Dance Company with their artistic director Victor Miguel Cabasagan. One of the performers, Lolrose Gail Mindaña, a Hospitality Management student, graciously shared: “I’ve been dancing for four years now. Ever since the pandemic, I’ve been grateful for the opportunities where I can dance, especially where [we] can showcase the rural dances of the Philippines.” (SunStar Cebu)
