BIG cash prizes were given by the Mandaue City Government to the top 5 best-performing barangays in administering vaccination to its constituents through its Bakuna Awards in partnership with Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (Rafi).

Fully vaccinated individuals were also given cash prizes via a raffle draw.

With its theme, "Barangay nga Kugihan Muawhag sa Pagpabakuna Naay Ayuda," the ceremony was held at the session hall of Mandaue City Hall on Friday, May 20, 2022.

The top five barangays that belong to the seven priority local government units in Metro Cebu and have reached the target vaccination rate of 70 percent by the Department of Health (DOH) as of December 2021 were entitled to receive the incentive awards.

They were given P50,000 (rank 1), P45,000 (rank 2), P40,000 (rank 3), P35,000 (rank 4), and P30,000 (rank 5).

Barangay Centro ranked first among the top-performing barangays in Mandaue City, followed by barangays Basak (rank 2), Bakilid (rank 3), Looc (rank 4), and Ibabao (rank 5).

Meanwhile, five Mandauehanons who have completed their first and second doses in one of the city's vaccination sites were also rewarded via a raffle draw.

First prize winner Randy Manlujao of barangay Canduman received P50,000, followed by Kent Amasa Rosaroso of barangay Tipolo with P40,000, Marc Prince Noval Angeles of barangay Paknaan with P35,000, Zenaida Sucalit of barangay Looc with P25,000, and Geraldez Canizares Teraleo of barangay Cambaro with P15,000.

The individual award winners were advised to wait for a call or text from a Rafi representative for instructions on how to claim their cash prize.

Upon claiming, winners shall present one valid ID and their vaccination card for verification.

Proxy or claimant representatives will not be allowed to claim the reward prize.

The complete list of winners will be posted on the Mandaue City Public Information Facebook page. (HIC, TPT)
