Manila Bulletin Joins PTV4 For 2013 Election Coverage

MANILA, Philippines --- In an effort to provide comprehensive election coverage, the Manila Bulletin has partnered with the People's Television Network, Inc. (PTNI) for its marathon broadcast of the 2013 midterm elections over PTV4.

Dubbed "Hatol ng Bayan," the program features real-time field reports gathered from key areas nationwide highlighting the elections and the counting of votes.

As one of PTNI's media partners, the Manila Bulletin will run a front-page column under the Hatol ng Bayan banner containing election-related articles. A recap of the program's episodes will also appear on the newspaper's pages. On Election Day, May 13, 2013, the Manila Bulletin will provide a running tally board under the Hatol ng Bayan banner.

The program started Monday and will run daily from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. until May 15, 2013. It has two phases. The first is titled "Ang Paghahanda para sa Hatol ng Bayan," which includes "The Comelec Hour" to be telecast every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting Feb. 11 to April 30, 2013. The second phase is called "Hatol ng Bayan" which will be aired for two days starting on May 13, 2013.

The Manila Bulletin expressed confidence that the joint endeavor, its first such undertaking after nine years, will provide Filipinos all over the country with vital and comprehensive information on the elections.
