The storied boxing career of Manny Pacquiao, the lone eight-division world boxing champion, has come to an end.

The Filipino boxing legend announced his retirement on Wednesday (September 29), which came on the heels of his decision to run for presidency in the 2022 Philippine elections.

At the age of 42, Pacquiao, who held 12 major titles in his illustrious career, walks away from the boxing ring with 62 wins, 39 of which are knockout victories, eight losses and two draws.

In light of his announcement, many in the boxing world paid tribute and expressed gratitude to Pacquiao's contributions to the sport.

Among the first ones to show love to Pacquiao were Ryan Garcia, Michael Conlan and George Kambosos Jr., all of whom are young stars in boxing who drew inspiration from the sporting great.

Marco Antonio Barrera, a Mexican boxing champion who once shared the ring with Pacquiao, also took the time to appreciate the greatness of the Filipino icon.
