Filipino billionaire Manuel Villar’s TV network ALLTV has signed a content license agreement with CNN Philippines which allows the latter to air its flagship news program “News Night” on ALLTV.

In a statement on Wednesday (Sep 7), Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS)–the firm operating ALLTV–said that CNN’s news program will be aired on ALLTV starting September 13.

“Through CNN Philippines, we can provide our viewers with in-depth local news coverage, and a global perspective on key issues, and stories from around the world,” said AMBS President Maribeth C. Tolentino.

According to AMBS, News night will be a 60-minute news program that will showcase the day’s top stories with live reports, in-depth analysis, and live interviews with prominent personalities, AMBS said.

The program will also be available on 12 Radio Philippines Network (RPN) stations in key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

ALLTV will reportedly rely on CNN Philippines’ years-long experience in delivering credible news, Tolentino said.

Moreover, CNN Philippines’ President Benjamin V. Ramos also called the partnership an opportunity to widen the reach of CNN Philippines throughout the country.

“We have an opportunity to reach more people in many parts of the country, and deliver news that’s accurate, fair and balanced,” Ramos said.

ALLTV, which will officially launch on Sep 13, has been acquiring various talents such as TV host Willie Revillame, Marcos allies Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano, and broadcast journalist Anthony Taberna.

The channel will be available on Channel 2 which was previously held by ABS-CBN Corp. before the government rejected its franchise renewal in 2020.

ALLTV will also air on Channel 16 on digital and Channel 35 on Cignal TV and Sky Cable, Channel 12 on Affordabox, and Channel 12 on TVPlus.
