Marcos and Duterte Embrace Ahead of Presidential Proclamation

Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, and Sara Duterte, outgoing president Rodrigo Duterte’s daughter, were proclaimed by lawmakers as president and vice president of the Philippines on May 25.

Footage here shows the politicians embracing at the House of Representatives ahead of their respective proclamations by a joint session of Congress.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer said several protesters were reported injured in clashes as police blocked a rally from making its way to the building.
