Cebuana skateboarding sensation Margielyn Didal officially booked a ticket to the Tokyo Olympics after the world governing body of the sport named her to the roster of athletes who qualified for the women’s street skateboarding event. World Skate made the announcement following the conclusion of the World Championships Olympic Qualification that was recently held in Rome.

This makes the 22-year old Cebuana the 10th athlete to join the Philippines’ delegation to the quadrennial sports event, joining the likes of weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, boxer Eumir Macial, taekwondo jin Kurt Barbosa and gymnast Caloy Yulo just to name a few.

The Cebuana rose to prominence after she won a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. She followed that up by winning two more gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games that was held in Manila the next year. (JNP)
